CLP is Now Legally-Binding

Published: 05 June 2015

Apollo would like to inform all of our customers that CLP is now legally-binding, as per the deadline set for 1st  June 2015.

A number of labelling elements have changed under CLP.  A new set of hazard pictograms have been implemented. For example, the descriptive denotation for ‘Danger’, such as ‘Flammable’ and ‘Harmful’ have been replaced by simple indicating words, ‘Danger’ and ‘Warning’. Risk and Safety phrases have also been replaced by specific hazard and precautionary statements.

Many of our customers will have seen that our packaging has already changed to meet this strict deadline.  However, please note that under CLP, manufacturers have two years from June 1st 2015 to use labelled-stock, i.e. CHiP.  Therefore, there may be an interim period where you will still receive stock with the GHS labels.

More information on CLP is available here.

Please do not hesitate to contact Apollo or your Account Manager directly with any queries.
